Some Sort of Show Long Beach Theatre reviews
Brian Regan---We laughed all the way home!
"Some Sort of Show was good medicine! He is truly a master at making the most absurd and laughable point of the little struggles we all face, using unmatched emotional facial expressions and an endless toolbox brimming with hilarious body language. What a rare talent! He is an absolute riot.
So much of his material was relatable to the every-man, the average guy living in a complicated and overwhelming world. Last Night Some Sort of Show drew us in and opened our hearts to an awfully funny life perspective and experience.
The amazing thing was that there was -no shock factor, no guile, no black humor, and no vulgarity! Some Sort of Show is proof that the best humor does not have to rely on crass and unmentionable material, but can be drawn out of light and common experience.
The only difficulty I had was the struggle to see him clearly. Our seats were very close and unobstructed, but my eyes were so blurry and filled with tears throughout his performance, that at times Some Sort of Show鈥檚 face was indistinguishable.
For us, the show didn鈥檛 stop when the lights went out. We laughed all the way home, every few minutes remembering something else that got us convulsing in our seats and tears streaming from our eyes.
Funny! Funny! Funny!"
